On August 10th Bindhu Pamarthi, freshman at UNC CH was crowned National American Miss North Carolina Teen 2008 in Concord, NC. Bindhu also won the talent, spokesmodel and community serivce awards. As NAMiss NC Teen, Bindhu will travel to Anaheim, California during thanksgiving week to compete for the National title. National American Miss is awarding 2008 Ford Mustangs to it's national winners for the first time ever making this a big year to compete. To win her state title, Bindhu competed amongst 60 other contestants from across the state in evening gown, personal introduction, interview and community service. She plans to use her title to develop a project she has started to fund a rehabilitated borehole in a village in Malawi that will provide potable water for up to 500 people. | |||||
